Roll a Fisherman Rebirth Guide: Requirements, Reset Effects, and Rewards
Plan a Roll a Fisherman rebirth: it unlocks at 100,000 Cash, resets your Cash, and permanently grants a 1.5x money multiplier, rolling luck, a dock expansion, and +1 fish slot — plus observed requirements for later rebirths.
Quick answer
The first rebirth unlocks at 100,000 Cash. Rebirthing wipes all of your accumulated Cash and permanently grants a 1.5x money multiplier, offline max time, rolling luck, a dock expansion, and +1 fish slot. Later rebirths cost far more — observed at 3.75 million Cash, then 150 million Cash plus a squid and an orca, then a displayed 3 billion — but only the 100,000 first threshold is confirmed across multiple recorded playthroughs; the later figures are observed values from recorded play (September 2026), not an official table.
- Rebirth is gated by Cash only — no quest or level requirement. Fish requirements appear only at later rebirths.
- Every completed rebirth shown in recorded play resets Cash to zero.
- Still undocumented: whether Gold, fishermen, placed fish, or index progress persist, whether required fish are consumed by the reset, per-rebirth reward stacking, and the total number of rebirths in the game.
How rebirth unlocks
Rebirth is gated by a Cash threshold rather than a quest or level. The option appears in the interface, but the game blocks it until you hold enough money — 100,000 Cash for the first rebirth. Cash is the currency that meets rebirth requirements (it also buys Fishermen), while Gold is reserved for special upgrades. Nothing besides Cash is required for the first rebirth; fish requirements only enter at later tiers.
Rebirth requirements by tier
All figures below come from gameplay recorded September 23–24, 2026. Treat every value as version-sensitive and recheck it on the rebirth option in-game after progression updates — this is not an official complete table.
Comparison
| Rebirth | Cash requirement | Other requirements |
|---|---|---|
| First rebirth | 100,000 Cash | None beyond Cash |
| Second observed rebirth | 3.75 million Cash | None observed |
| Third observed rebirth | 150 million Cash | A squid and an orca |
| Next rebirth displayed | 3 billion Cash | Not reached in the recorded run |
Costs rise sharply between tiers. From the 150 million tier onward, some rebirths also demand specific catches — the third observed rebirth asks for a squid and an orca. Keep those fish instead of auto-selling them: a catch required for your next reset can matter more than a pricier fish that doesn't advance progression.
What resets when you rebirth
Every completed rebirth in recorded play ends the same way: your accumulated Cash is gone. Players treat it as expected — "you lose all your money, but it was expected" — and written guidance states the rule plainly: "Rebirth resets money but improves your next run."
Everything beyond the Cash reset is undocumented. One player reading the rebirth screen asked whether the reset would take his squid and orca, and the mechanic is never explained. The same screen shows a "Skip rebirth" option priced at 280 Robux next to text transcribed as "keep your money only"; neither the skip option's effect nor that wording has a clear explanation, so read the confirmation text carefully in-game before you commit.
Permanent rewards a rebirth grants
The rebirth panel lists five rewards, and post-rebirth observations back them up:
Checklist
- 1.5x money multiplier
Listed on the rebirth panel and read off it in recorded runs.
- Offline max time
Part of the reward list shown on the rebirth panel.
- Rolling luck
Listed on the panel; a post-rebirth session displayed a luck multiplier of 5, which the player read as proof rebirthing 'is needed to increase my luck.'
- Dock expansion
Listed on the panel, and the game prompts 'Rebirth to expand your dock.'
- +1 fish slot
Confirmed immediately after a recorded rebirth — the dock had been full, with the game noting 'you need to rebirth to unlock more.'
Only the rewards above are confirmed to carry through the reset — whether Gold, fishermen, placed fish, or index progress survive isn't documented. Per-rebirth stacking is unknown too: that luck multiplier of 5 was never tied to a specific rebirth count.
When a rebirth is worth doing
No optimal schedule or formula is documented, so timing rests on general guidance from play. Written advice warns that "the cost rises sharply, so prepare before resetting instead of rebirthing immediately after reaching the minimum requirement," and frames the decision as immediate Cash versus permanent progression: "If a purchase leaves you unable to meet the next rebirth requirement, wait until your passive income can recover the difference." Its habits list schedules rebirths "after meeting cash and fish requirements."
Recorded players weigh it in the moment. One saved to 100,000 instead of buying his next fisherman because he wanted the rebirth — "worth it... because then you get another slot." Another who could already afford the reset waited for a fisherman he wanted first, then confirmed he had "$30 million extra dollars right now over the rebirth" before resetting. Both approaches appear in real play — an immediate first rebirth for the slot and luck gains, or building a buffer above the minimum — so check the next requirement on your rebirth option and decide by comparing what your Cash would buy now against how quickly passive income rebuilds it. Note that rolling luck only comes from rebirthing: one recorded run treats the reset as effectively required for luck gains, matching the reward list above.

Tips
Confirm the exact Cash requirement
Read the amount off the rebirth option before committing — 100,000 Cash for the first rebirth, then sharply higher observed tiers.
Keep every fish the next rebirth needs
Later rebirths demand specific catches, such as the squid and orca at the 150 million tier. A fish required for your next reset matters more than a pricier fish that doesn't advance progression, so hold onto it.
Turn off auto-sell for fish you're preserving
Auto-selling can remove fish needed for progression — check your next rebirth's requirements before enabling higher-rarity auto-sell. In one recorded run a player sold the squid his reset needed ('No, I SOLD THE SQUID'), switched auto-sell off, caught another — 'which means I can rebirth' — and only then confirmed the reset.
Settle stronger-fisher purchases first
Check whether a stronger fisher can be purchased before you reset, and whether buying one would leave you short of the next rebirth requirement.
Spend Gold only after comparing upgrades and mutations
Gold is reserved for special upgrades — it isn't the currency rebirth requires — so compare your upgrade and mutation options before spending it.
